BC Assessment Street Search Made Easier
June 6, 2002: Victoria, B.C. | Searching for property in BC Assessment just got easier! BC Assessment has removed the requirement for the Area code in their Street Address search. This means that you do not have to look up the area code for addresses anymore. Just type the address and all records that match will be displayed.
If only one address in the province matches your request, you will immediately go to that record. If more that one address matches your request, they will be listed for you. Since most addresses in the province are unique, leaving out the Area code should not change the results you get using the Street search in BC Assessment.
If you do find that more than one address comes up on an index listing, you can use the Help button to find out what area the code is referring to.
- Click the Help button
- Click the Table of Contents button
- Scroll down and click the Assessment Area link
This table lists all area codes and its location.
This change is a result of the response BC OnLine received from our customer survey last year. Acting on this information, BC Assessment re-engineered their computer system to make searching easier for customers.
